You don’t need a health club membership to burn fat and lose weight.   Burn fat working out in your own home. It will save you time, money and you’ll be less stressed out from the travel commute.  And, when you get bored at home, take your workout outdoors to the park or school playground.

You can easily reach your fitness goals working out at home. I train the majority of my clients at their homes or places other than gyms.  About all you will need is a stability ball, medicine ball, resistance tubes and some dumbbells.

And, don’t forget about bodyweight strength exercises—pushups, pullups, inverted rows, squats, lunges, mountain climbers and step ups are all staple bodyweight exercises you should be doing.  The key for you is probably to speed up your metabolism.

You won’t burn fat at home by just setting up little-used treadmills and fitness gadgets gathering dust.

If you want permanent fat loss and weight loss, you need to continually boost your metabolism. Metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories. Your basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the number of calories you’d burn if you did nothing all day (or the amount of calories your body needs to maintain itself).

Regular exercise (interval cardio 2-3 days a week/weight training 3 days a week) is the best way to speed up your metabolism. Building muscle mass will speed up your metabolism because your body has to work harder to maintain muscle.  It will help you burn more calories during the day and at rest.
